Who this page is for
Use these steps if you want to remove specific records, clear your device entirely, or have your cloud backups deleted — while keeping your Google Sign-In and the ability to use Cloud Backup going forward. If you'd rather close your account entirely, use Delete Your HomePerty Account & Data instead — it covers both the account and its data in one step.
Option 1 — Delete individual records in the app
Anything you've entered — a property, tenant, lease, transaction, maintenance ticket, document, photo, voice note, calendar entry, or note — can be deleted directly where you manage it in the app: open the record, use its Delete action, and confirm. This removes it from your device immediately.
If you have Pro Cloud Backup, the deletion is included automatically in your next backup, which replaces the most recent version. Older backup versions taken before the deletion (up to 10 are retained) may still contain the earlier data until they age out and are replaced by newer backups in the normal course of use.
Option 2 — Wipe all local data, keep your account (Settings → Reset app)
- Open HomePerty on your device.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Reset app.
- Confirm when prompted.
This permanently erases everything stored on your device — properties, tenants, leases, finances, documents, photos, voice notes, calendar entries, notes, and app settings — and returns the app to a fresh install state. Your Google sign-in and any existing Cloud Backup versions on our servers are not affected: you remain signed in (or can sign back in) and can restore a previous backup afterward, or continue with a clean slate.
Option 3 — Delete your cloud backups only, keep your account (by email)
If you want your backup content removed from our servers but want to keep your sign-in identity intact (for example, to start Cloud Backup fresh later without deleting your account), request it directly:
- Email kingnerdishere@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my HomePerty cloud data".
- Send it from (or reference) the same email address associated with your Google account, so we can verify it's you.
- State clearly that you want your Cloud Backup data deleted, but your account kept active.
Once verified, we delete every backup archive and its metadata from Firebase while leaving your Firebase Authentication account (your sign-in identity) untouched. Most users find it simpler to use Delete cloud data & account in-app if they want a fully clean slate — this option exists specifically for keeping the account without any of its current backups.
What gets deleted, and what's retained
| Action | What's deleted | What's retained |
|---|---|---|
| Deleting a single record in-app | That record, on your device (and in your next cloud backup, if Pro) | Everything else; older backup versions may briefly retain the old copy until they age out |
| Settings → Reset app | All on-device data and app settings | Your account and existing cloud backup versions on our servers |
| Email request — cloud data only | All cloud backup archives and their metadata | Your account (sign-in identity) stays active |
How long it takes
- In-app deletion (Options 1 and 2): immediate and permanent on your device.
- Email requests (Option 3): completed within 30 days of us verifying you control the account, consistent with the response time described in our Privacy Policy for data-subject rights requests.
